Very nice Location and beautiful building. Friendly Staff (with exceptions). Very good food, the 4-course meal included in the booking fee was delicious.
The Spa-Area was not really welcoming, the door to the sauna didn't shut properly. Our room was out the back, facing the kitchen noise and fan. I would not book this room again, doesn't fit Luxury Category.

Very friendly and service oriented staff. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fantastic!
It is a beautiful house built in the 1800's . However, beacuse of it's age it lacks of good ventilation system which allows the rooms to get a bit stuffy. Breakfast was good in general except for the warm options : artificial scrambled eggs and mushy French toast , they were real downers .

We used this hotel/ beautiful (historical) location to host the dinner for our marriage. It exceeded our expectations in all respects. The personnel was excellent - professional, helpful and tolerant, the location just perfect, the rooms comfortable and the price 'value for money'. Special mention can be made of the quality of the cuisine; we booked a 5 course menu which was of an excellent standard; both creative and tasty. The car drive from Leeuwarden only takes 30 minutes and can be made through the Frisian countryside.
Apparently, there are some rooms located at the back of the hotel which are of lower standard than the rooms in the front (i.e. facing the fountain). If so, they might best be avoided. We didn't use the spa facilities but will definitely be back to try them; they looked fine.

Great location and fantastic view from the room. Comfortable beds. Very helpful and friendly staff. Perfect for exploring the surrounding areas.
The pool area could do with cleaning and redecorating.

Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic. This hotel is a very good hotel for people seeking luxury, wellness and relax.
Breakfast was ok but quilte ordinanary.
